A Love Note on Navigating the Great Perturbation

Hello, beautiful souls.

If you haven’t met me yet, I’m Dave Hime—a connector, sense-maker, and healer who has spent four decades learning to harness the power of transformation. I’m here because the world is rapidly changing, the systems we’ve known for hundreds of years are warping, and many of us are searching for a way to navigate these upheavals with grace.

This is my first love note to you through Library of Light, and I want to share something that has become crystal clear to me: we are living through what I call The Great Perturbation—and understanding this can transform how we move through these times.

LIBRARY OF LIGHT

Your Invitation

If this resonates with you, I’d be honored to have you join me in this new space. You can read my first post and subscribe at:

When Systems Cannot Hold

In quantum physics, perturbation theory describes what happens when a stable system encounters forces that disturb its equilibrium. The system doesn’t simply return to its original state—it must reorganize itself at a higher level of complexity to accommodate the new energy flowing through it.

This is exactly what’s happening to us, both individually and collectively.

We’re witnessing the “No Kings” marches challenging governmental hierarchies. We’re seeing the rise of a new spiritual consciousness around bitcoin and decentralized systems. Erratic weather patterns are reshaping how we understand our relationship with the Earth itself. These aren’t isolated events—they’re symptoms of multiple systems undergoing simultaneous perturbation.

And if you’re feeling unsettled, anxious, or like the ground beneath your feet keeps shifting… that’s not pathology. That’s physics.

My Own Sacred Disruption

I’ve lived through many of these perturbations myself. Each career transition, each moment of awakening, each time I felt called to turn my attention toward the transformational methods life had taught me—they all followed this same pattern of disruption, discomfort, and eventual reorganization.

The most recent came in my mid-60s. I had found what seemed like the perfect job at a boutique hotel—a role that promised to honor the magnificence of each guest and support their self-actualization. It felt aligned with everything I believed about human potential.

But slowly, painfully, I realized I was once again trying to force myself into someone else’s idea of who I “should” be. I had tied my sense of worth to success at that job, and the perturbation came when I could no longer live with myself—feeling unrecognized for my contributions and undervalued as a human being.

The discomfort was extreme. Here I was, in my mid-60s, with massive debt and only a life coach certification, trying to imagine how I could possibly build a transformational practice while keeping my day job. The old system of my identity couldn’t hold the new energy of what I was being called to become.

That perturbation forced me to reorganize myself at a higher level—to remember that mastery isn’t about forcing yourself into pre-existing molds, but about allowing your authentic essence to reshape the world around you.

The Wisdom Hidden in Our Reactions

Here’s what I’ve learned: when systems are being perturbed, people tend to react in two primary ways. Some become pessimistic—convinced that everything is falling apart and there’s no hope. Others become pushy—trying to force solutions or control outcomes through sheer will.

Both responses are natural. Both contain wisdom. And both are invitations to something deeper.

The pessimism is often a soul’s recognition that the old ways truly aren’t working anymore. The pushiness is often a spirit’s urgent desire to birth something new. But when we get stuck in either response, we miss the profound opportunity that perturbation offers.

The invitation is to move through the discomfort with patience—not passive waiting, but active presence with what is trying to emerge. Patience as strength. Patience as a willingness to let the new system reorganize itself without forcing the process.

Why Now, Why Here

I’m creating this space because I believe we need guides for this Great Perturbation. Not people who will tell you how to fix everything quickly, but companions who understand that transformation is inherently uncomfortable—and that this discomfort is sacred.

Through Library of Light, I’ll share what I’ve learned about finding illumination in dark times, healing through deep connection with your essential self, and navigating change with both softness and sovereignty. I’ll post when I’m moved to do so, trusting that the right words will find the right hearts at the right time.

We are living through a time of unprecedented reorganization. The systems that have governed our world for centuries are being perturbed by forces we’re only beginning to understand. This can feel terrifying—or it can feel like the most extraordinary invitation to become who we truly are.

Your discomfort isn’t evidence that you’re doing something wrong. It’s evidence that you’re part of a system that’s reorganizing itself at a higher level of consciousness, love, and possibility.

The light you’re seeking? It’s already within you. Sometimes it just takes a little sacred disruption to remember how bright you actually are.

Welcome to the Library of Light. I’m honored to walk this path of becoming with you.
